Stara Secerana sold for RSD 690 million to “anonymous buyer”

The Bankruptcy Supervision Agency has sold the Stara Secerana facility (Old Sugar Plant) in Belgrade for RSD 690 million.

Secerana was sold at a public bidding, with three bidders taking part. The second bid, of RSD 690 million, was accepted, and the initial price was RSD 680 million.

The female person who took part in the auction and who was the only one to accept the offer of RSD 690 million said that she was there on behalf of the GS&M Law Office and that the firm represented a purchaser whose name she did not want to disclose.

The purchaser got 18 pieces of real estate, the smallest of which has 37 square meters, whereas the biggest one has 3,716 square meters. Among the facilities sold is the Cultural Institution KPGT Theater, which is located within the Stara Secerana complex, and which has been a city institution since 2021.

The “Fabrika secera” (“Sugar Factory”) has been a cultural good since 1984, and it is located within the spatial cultural-historical whole “Topcider”, which has been a cultural good of historical importance since 1987.

The members of the Serbian parliament Aleksandar Jovanovic Cuta and Danijela Nestorovic and a group of activists tried to stop the sale, but did not manage to do so.
