The facility for the use of waste for the production of energy has officially been put into operation in Vinca. This is a power plant that runs on municipal waste, which aims for responsible waste management, its proper use and environmental improvement.

According to the earlier announcements from the company Beo Cista Energija, on an annual level, at the facility, the incineration of 340,000 tons of waste will provide electricity for 5% of Belgrade households, as well as heating energy for 10% of the households in the capital city.

More than a half of the waste generated by the people of Belgrade is now thermally processed in this facility, and the produced “green” heating and electrical energy are delivered to the consumers.

With the realization of the construction of the Thermal Power/Heating Plant (TE-TO) Vinca, the new sanitary landfill, the facility for the re-use of construction and demolition waste, as well as the facility for the treatment of seepage, this investment is a key step toward the improvement of the sustainable management of municipal waste in Belgrade and a considerable improvement of the quality of the environment, announced the City of Belgrade.
