European Investment Bank approved loan of 80m EUR for development of intermodal traffic in Serbia
The Assistant to the Minister of Infrastructure, Dejan Lasica, stated that major part of the loan of 70m EUR of the European Investment Bank (EIB) had been spent on the development of intermodal traffic in Serbia and he pointed out that EIB had approved new loan of about 80m EUR.
- Significant share of money from the new loan of EIB will be directed to the development of traffic capacities - said Lasica at the meeting in the Chamber of Commerce of Belgrade, of which subject was "Development of intermodal traffic in Republic of Serbia" (transportation of goods by principe railway – road - river).
The most significant implemented projects were reconstruction of 19 bridges and six tunnels on Niš – Dimitrovgrad railway, Lasica reminded at the meeting organized by the Ministry of Infrastructure, Faculty of Transportation of University in Belgrade and Institute for Technologies and Society "Sintef" from Norway.
The meeting was attended by the representatives of railway, road and water traffic of Serbia, the Army of Serbia, Port of Belgrade, Parking Service, Company for Roads, Institute "Kirilo Savić", Republic Institute for Development and freight-forwarders of Serbia.
