The minimum wage for 2025 will amount to RSD 53,592, which is 13.7% more than the minimum wage for this year, as agreed at the session of the Social and Economic Council.

Announcing the new minimum wage, prime minister Milos Vucevic said that, for the first time after six years, the decision had been made through a dialogue at the council, and not unanimously by the Government of Serbia.

– For the first time, the wage covers the minimal consumer basket – the prime minister pointed out.

The session of the council, which was held at the Palace of Serbia, was attended by the first deputy prime minister of and minister of finance, Sinisa Mali, the minister of labor, employment, veteran and social policy, Nemanja Starovic, representatives of the Serbian Association of Employers and representatives of the trade unions.

Serbian president Aleksandar Vucic stated on Monday that he had asked the government to increase the minimum wage by nearly 14%, so that the minimum wage would cover the minimal consumer basket.
